DS Comic: "A Far Cry from Cocoa Beach" by Mizface

Art by Zelempa, adapted from the story A Far Cry from Cocoa Beach by Mizface.

This was drawn for Mizface after she won my services in the Queensland Flood Auction in February 2011, and I'd just like to publicly apologize for delivering this in freaking LATE JUNE. I have no excuse.

Script Notes: This is a heavily condensed version of the story. I wanted the comic to (1) hit all the moments I wanted to illustrate (which were in different scenes), and to (2) work as a standalone with a beginning, middle, and end (not appear to be 'scenes from'). Hopefully it works, but you should definitely go ahead and read the whole story--there is a lot more material there.

Art Notes: I've been looking for a chance to experiment doing a black and white comic with significant visual elements another color, and this story seemed like the perfect opportunity. If I were going to do this again though I'd paint the color parts on a different page than the black and white and then layer them together in photoshop--it was hard to scan them in a way so that they both looked okay. You live, you learn.
